What to Bring to Miracles Happen Recovery Residence

Miracles Happen provides housing, food and beverages for three meals and snacks daily, recovery programming, in house substance abuse counseling, and general cleaning and household supplies.  Upon entering the program at Miracles Happen Recovery Residence new residents will need to bring the following:

  • Clothing, undergarments, socks, and a jacket or coat sufficient for 7 days wear.  Clothing may not depict or refer to drugs, drug use, alcohol, alcohol use, and may not be sexually explicit or have any profanity on them.  Inappropriate clothing items will be confiscated.

  • Shoes.

  • Twin XL sheet set, no more than two pillows with cases, blanket or comforter.

  • Toiletry items such as toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, conditioner, razor, shave cream, hair dryer if needed.

  • Two or three towels and washcloths.

If a new resident does not have resources to provide some of the above items, Miracles Happen Recovery Residence will assist the resident.

We take a minimalist approach at Miracles Happen and excessive personal items will not be allowed at the residence.  Our experience has shown that a preoccupation with material items detracts from our residents’ ability to focus on their recovery.

The following items are NOT PERMITTED:

  • Televisions

  • Gaming consoles of any type

  • Coffee Makers

  • Refrigerators

  • Microwaves

  • Other personal appliances

  • Food

Should a resident need a laptop or tablet for work or education purposes the possession of such a device will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
